Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion
The Temple of Poseidon is situated in Sounion, on the tip of the Attica peninsula, and is surrounded by sea. The sanctuary consisted of temples dedicated to the gods of the city. The principal temple was dedicated to Poseidon, the god of the sea. This is a Doric temple and is the only temple which has been preserved until today
